Evaluation of Canon Selphy CP780 printer March 9, 2010 Charles E. English, Jr. (Foley, AL) I would strongly recommend the purchase of the Selphy CP780 printer to anyone interested
in the purchase of a small convenient portable printer. Its ease of use is outstanding
and the results are very acceptable. Gene English
Excellent Printer.....Just a missing USB cable.... February 25, 2010 Saurabh Gupta I Bought this printer a couple weeks back...hooked it up in minutes...didnt actually need the user manual except for making sure i am inserting the paper correct side up. Rest all works great. Canon needs to work on the printer inbuilt interface software. It's too basic and does not allow easy navigation when u got about 1000 pics in your memory card. The PC software too is good, will not work unless u get the printer ready and connected to the system.
Picture quality is better than that i expected. The detailing of the finer parts in the image looked great.....a must buy for photo enthusiasts....
Buy the Picturemate 240 and don't look back. February 18, 2010 Lynn Cardiff (Katy, Texas, USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
Hi! If you are reading this review right now, you want to find a good picture developer for your own home or office. So, you must trust me to tell you how it is between the Canon Selphy and the Picturemate 240. The difference is like night and day. My Picturemate finally locked up after years and thousands of photo prints. The little screen told me to check my handbook...............That was impossible. I don't do instructions very well, and I had no idea where to look for the instructional booklet. I went to my husband fussing about my printer. He being a great guy and wanting me to be happy, went right out to the store to buy me a new one. When he arrived at the department for photo printers, he was told that they didn't have the Photomate 240. He was shown the Canon Selphy CP780. He bought it because Canon is always a product that can be depended on to work well. He brought it home. Put it together and started printing the pictures. We found that the Canon is very small and one has to have a long neck to see the picture selection ON TOP of the printer. The Photomate has a stand up viewer and it is so easy to see the pictures one wants to print. After selecting a few pictures to test the printer, I sat there for ever so long waiting while the copy went back and forth putting different colors on the picture............The Photomate just prints the finished picture.......No yellow, then blue, then red....or whatever, before the photo was ready to be sent out in its finished color. Then, when the picture did appear, it was long and slim. The tabs on each end had to be removed. The Photomate picture just comes out all ready to file away in a photo book. The ink is also very dry and the prints may be stacked one on top of another. I just found that the Photomate is the most enjoyable printer to operate. Since I had both the Photomate and the Canon on my desk, I could compair the color of the pictures. The Photomate had beautiful, vivid colors while the Canon was lighter in color. I didn't wait any longer. I gathered up all the paper and the box to the Canon and took it right back to the store from which I had bought it. It really concerns me that people are buying the Canon printer and having to put up with all its faults when they should spend a little more (the Photomate 240 is on sale now) and enjoy printing their pictures. The Photomate makes it all soooooooooooooo easy. The only problem I have with the Photomate is I can't remove the "frame" from my pictures and I must think ahead when taking my pictures so that heads are not cut in half. I know that this frame can be removed, but like I said, I don't read instructions. With the Photomate, it is so easy to use and the results is better than a lot of professional pictures. I am off the buy another Photomate 240. It is just the best printer for my home or any home. That saying "You get what you pay for." is true with the Photomate. The Canon may be less expensive, but your pictures will be a chore to print and the color will be compromised. Just stop reading and go buy a Photomate 240. You will be happy you did! Trust me!!!!
Easy and Fun to Use February 11, 2010 Photo girl (Alexandria, VA) I purchased the Selphy printer with a cannon camera for my parents for Christmas. They are in their 80s and I was concerned that they might not be able to work the camera or printer on their own. The camera took little more work, but the printer was easy to set up and to show them how to work it. They use it all the time and have really gotten into photography because they enjoy being able to see and print their pictures immediately. I would absolutely recommend this printer to anyone.
